Now’s your chance to become one of the first people in the world to own a .blog domain name.
Starting today and until October 17th, trademark holders can apply to register their .blog domain through a certified trademark agent. Trademark owners get first priority during this, the “Sunrise” phase of our rollout.
Just go to nic.blog/registrars for a list of companies where you can get your own .blog domain. Trademark agents are identified with “Sunrise.”
If you do not have a trademark, .blog domains will be freely available to everyone from November 2nd to November 9th, during the “Landrush” phase for early adopters. This phase has slightly higher price points.
Then on November 21st, .blog will be available to everyone at regular prices through the “General Availability” phase.
Who can use a .blog domain?
Anyone. The .blog name is perfect for bloggers, publishers and brands, no matter where your site is hosted.
Trademark holders have the opportunity to reserve .blog names for themselves to use their .blog for their own blogs or sites, and brand protection to prevent others from registering a name with your brand.
All trademark holders must be registered with the Trademark Clearing House in order to be able to get a .blog name during the Sunrise period, so be sure to register through one of their agents here first: http://www.trademark-clearinghouse.com/agents.
